The Valley of Fear is the fourth and final Sherlock Holmes novel by Arthur Conan Doyle. Combining a locked-room-style investigation, a tale of undercover danger and the shadow of Professor Moriarty, it echoes the structure of A Study in Scarlet while bringing Holmes’s novel-length adventures to a dramatic close.
First published in serial form in The Strand Magazine from September 1914 to May 1915 and in book form in 1915, The Valley of Fear is presented here as
